Another showstopper when industry coverage for ‘Know India Better’ presentation held recently in Sydney at Manjit’s at the Wharf. Adventure World and Taj Hotels and Resorts were partners for this particular event – a regular initiative of AITTC designed to increase awareness about India as an exciting travel destination.
Eric Finlay, Product Manager India and Asia from Adventure World echoed similar sentiments during his presentation showcasing their range of products and itineraries for India. He suggested the market to look beyond the traditional circuit and introduce newer places like Kolkata, Arunachal Pradesh, and Humpi.
Thushara Liyanarachchi, Director Global Sales – Australia & New Zealand while outlining growth of Taj Hotels and Resorts in India and abroad mentioned about the experience of staying like a Maharaja in one of their plush palace hotels like the Rambagh Palace in pink city Jaipur. She also gave an update on the new properties – the ones in Andaman and Rishikesh being very appealing.
Earlier B Vanlavawna, Consul General of India in Sydney highlighted about the various developments in India making it a strong force in the economy, technology, and tourism in the Asia Pacific region.
The highlight of the evening was the guest speaker address by Rachel Crowley, Eastern Markets Manager Northern Territory Tourism. Though her job is to get more tourists from India to the territory, the audience was delighted to hear her amazing travels in India. Her address kept AITTC’s bilateral agenda high as it’s the only body which drives bi-lateral travel and tourism relations between Australia and India.
Phillip Boniface, Co- Chairman AITTC most efficiently anchored the proceedings of the evening while Shankar Dhar, Vice Chairman granted the vote of thanks. Vishnu Daram and Reeth Arora were busy managing all the logistics.
