The grand success of our recently held Know India Better event simply message that AITTC is now a force in the industry. Jointly organized with India Tourism, this event which was attened by hordes of industry associates, media and dignitaries, received extensive media coverage even in Australia and India as well. This achievement inspires us to do more to influence the growth in bilateral travel. May be we should do something similar to update and educate the outbound travel agents and tour operators in India on Australia. I am open for suggestions from our members and contacts in India on how we can achieve this effectively. For example I think we need to let India know more about Vivid Sydney, the lighting and music festival which transforms the city into a carnival mode.
We are continuously planning events and forums to showcase India and Australia and to identify issues and potential solutions for growth of bilateral tourism, Indian Food Festival, Seminar on Opportunities and Challenges in Bilateral Travel ad Collaboration with Inbound Australian Tour Operators on India are some in the pipeline. We look forward to receiving your assistance and cooperation in organising these events, so please do not hesitate to contact us to support.
Our Cuppa Chai is proving to be very effective as a medium for interaction with the industry both in Australia and India. It’s providing a platform for AITTC members and others to communicate with the industry. Please contact us if you have any special news to pass on through Cuppa Chai. Our website (www.aittc.net.au) revamp to make it more dynamic and informative is nearing completion. One important addition is publication of media stories on Australia and India. So travel writers, feel free to submit your relevant media stories to us for listing.
Lastly I take this opportunity to congratulate our member Sheba Nandkeolyar CEO at MultiConnexions for being elected as the National Chair of Australia India Business Council. Jim Varghese joins her the National Vice Chair. We look forward to working closely with both of them on matters that compliments both organisations.
